Turckheim
This memorial museum, located in the medieval town of Turckheim in a vaulted cellar of the former presbytery (18th century), commemorates the two months of fighting to liberate Colmar during the harsh winter of 1944–1945. On display are weapons, equipment, uniforms, posters, photographs, and mannequins representing the German, American, and French armies, as well as scale models of armored vehicles and fighter planes. It also helps preserve a historical heritage that is under threat.
